OfflineID is Offline Protocol’s hosted account identity service. The OfflineID SDK connects React applications (@offline-protocol/id-react 0.2.0) and React Native applications (@offline-protocol/id-react-native 0.3.3) to it, providing email authentication, profiles and connection features through the SDK’s components and hooks. The current portal supports email sign-in. Phone sign-in is coming soon; a setting does not enable an unsupported login method.

Account identity and device identity

Use the OfflineID SDK for an application’s user account experience. Use the Mesh SDK identity for a device’s cryptographic address and local communication. A username is not a mesh recipient address. Bind an approved account to a device address explicitly if your application uses both. Hosted sign-in and API operations require network access. Do not use the account login endpoint as a prerequisite for every local device interaction.

React

Install the web package and configure the application provider.

React Native

Integrate account features in a mobile application.

Pricing and limits

OfflineID sign-ins are metered by monthly active users. The Free plan includes 1,000 a month with no card required, Pro includes 10,000 and Scale 50,000. With a card on file, usage beyond the quota is billed at $0.02 per additional monthly active user. On Free without a card, when any meter uses its full quota, all of the organization’s metered hosted services pause, OfflineID sign-ins included. Sign-in and code requests then answer HTTP 402 with “Sign-in is paused for this app. Please contact the app’s developer.” until you add a card or choose a paid plan in Billing, or the next billing period starts. See usage warnings, billing limits and pauses.
